Alabama - Obtain Certificate for Export to Japan


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Obtain Certificate for Export to Japan, the applicant has to approach the Food Safety and Inspection Service U.S. Department of Agriculture. Contact details are mentioned in “Office Locations & Contacts” of this page. Or use the following given Contact Link
  2. An application form is available at the following Link
  3. The applicant has to fill-in all the details in the form.
  4. Applicant should make sure to attach all the documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
  5. Submit the application and required documents to the appropriate office.
  6. Address is mentioned in “Office Locations & Contacts” of this page.
  7. The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) veterinarian will issue the certificate while exporting.
  8. Please contact Food Safety and Inspection Service U.S. Department of Agriculture for fee, processing time and further details.

Eligibility

  • Export product must be less than 30 months of age.
  • Casings must be from animals killed in the United States.

  • Date (Month & Year) Of Slaughter and Inspection
  • Name of Agency or Name & Title of Official Conducting Slaughter Inspection

Need for the Document

  • Only after obtaining this certificate can a product is exported from the United States.
  • Exporters from the United States should make sure that the items do not leave the country until the veterinarian has signed the certificate.
