Alabama - Get Vendor Information or Certification (Court)


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Get Vendor Information or Certification (Court), the applicant has to approach the United States Court link
    NOTE: Search by address, city, state or ZIP Code and click the “Location” button.
  2. The applicant has to download the application form from the following link
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the nearest U.S court.
  7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  9. Once all the verification process is completed, the applicant will get the certificate through mail.
  10. If a TIN is not provided, a payment may be subject to backup withholding situations where the Judiciary must withhold a certain percentage to ensure the IRS receives any tax due on the payment.
  11. For more details about the payment process, the applicant has to visit the court administrative office.
  12. The processing time for the entire process is up to 30 days.

Need for the Document

  • Taxpayer Identification is the number required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to be used in reporting income tax and other returns. The TIN may be either a social security number (SSN) or an employer identification number (EIN).
  • The vendor is a non-resident alien, foreign corporation or foreign partnership that does not have income effectively connected with the conduct of a trade or business in the United States and does not have an office or place of business or a fiscal paying agent in the United States.
  • The vendor is an agency or instrumentality of a foreign government.
