- To Get General Power of Attorney, the applicant must approach nearby Offices of the United States Attorneys link
- Note: The applicant must select their respective district from the drop-down menu to find nearby offices to them.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant must enter all the details in the application form.
- Make sure that the applicant must attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant must attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the necessary documents along with the completed form to the concerned attorney officer.
- The fee for this procedure must be paid as per the attorney’s request.
- The designated attorney will review the documents. The attorney will draft the power of attorney documentation process.
- Once the officer drafts the POA, the applicant must sign and notarize it.
- The processing time to obtain General Power of Attorney is takes up to 8 – 10 weeks.
