1. To Get Commodity Flow Survey, the applicant has to approach the U.S. Census Bureau Economic Indicators Division link
2. To start this procedure, the applicant has to create an account in Census Bureau by using this following link
3. If the applicant has already created a Census Account, click the “Sign in” button.
4. If the applicant is new user to access the survey the applicant has to click the “Register” button.
5. Enter all details to complete the registration process and click the “FINISH” button.
6. After completing go back to the sign in page and enter the user ID, password and click the “Sign in” button.
7. Now the applicant can add connect to the link survey.
8. The applicant has to link the account to the survey by an authentication code sent from the Census Bureau.
9. Once the applicant gets this authentication code, click on the “Add Authentication Code” button under “My Surveys.”
10. Enter the unique 12 – digit code and click the “Submit” button.
11. Report by clicking on “REPORT NOW.” The applicant can return to the account over multiple sessions to complete.
12. The process will be done every five years of completion.
13. The U.S. Census Bureau Economic Indicators Division will collect the data and assess the demand for transport facilities and service.
14. The fee for this procedure is free of cost.
15. The processing time for completing this process is within an hour.

NOTE:
The applicant will receive quarterly correspondence prior to each collection to prompt for the next quarter.

• The Commodity Flow survey is conducted every five years in partnership with the Bureau of Transportation statistics and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration to provide important statistics about the movement of goods in the United States.
• The data are used by policy makers and transportation planners in various federal, state, and local agencies to assess the demand for transportation facilities and services, energy use, safety risks, and environmental concerns.

• The applicant personal Census Bureau account should not be shared with others in the applicant organization.
• Each individual should create their own account.
• The survey authentication code can only be used to link one individual to the survey, though if the applicant is linked to this survey, the applicant can share the survey access with others.
