1. You can notify the Driver's License Division about your new address by post, state your complete name, your driver's license number and your new address and send them to:

2. You may also personally apply to change the address stated on your driver's license by going to your probate judge or local license commissioner's office.
3. Pay the duplicate fee.

Your driver's license is valid for four years after it is issued, you can find the expiration date on the license.

The license may be renewed at any time within 60 days prior to expiration at your Probate Judge or license Commissioner Office.

Change of address:

After changing your address within Alabama, you have 30 days to notify the Driver's License Division. If you wish to change the address stated on your license, you may apply at your probate judge or local license commissioner's office. A duplicate fee will be charged for a corrected license.
