Alabama - Apply for Temporary Event Vendor License

Apply In Person

  1. To Apply for Temporary Event Vendor license, the applicant has to approach the U.S. Small Business Administration link
  2. Determine the type of temporary event vendor license you need based on the nature of your business and the products or services you plan to offer at the event (e.g., food, merchandise, services).
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  5. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  7. Depending on the nature of your products, you may need to comply with specific federal regulations and obtain additional permits or certifications.
  8. For instance, if you are distributing or selling controlled substances, alcohol, firearms, or certain agricultural products, you'll need to adhere to federal regulations and possibly obtain federal licenses.
  9. Submit the application form and the documents to the authorized officer.
  10. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  11. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  12. Then the application will be processed further.
  13. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  14. If your application is approved, you'll receive a temporary event vendor license or permit. This document will outline the terms and conditions of your participation in the event.
  15. Make sure to follow all regulations, guidelines, and requirements specified by the local authority. This might include health and safety regulations, booth setup rules, and sales tax collection.
