To exchange your license for an Armenia driver�s license, you need to apply in-person at a Driving Test centre. You need to:

• take an eye test
• bring original identification showing your legal name, date of birth and signature
• bring your original, valid foreign driver�s license
• bring any original supporting documents that show proof of your driving experience
• pay the applicable fees
• fill out an application form (where you will state how long you have been driving)

You might also need to take a written test or road tests, before you get a full license. It depends on your circumstances.

The law in Akrotiri states that you must be 18 years old and have resided in Akrotiri for 6 months before you can apply for an Akrotiri one, although you may use the UK provisional one as long as you are 18 years old. You cannot take your driving test until you have been resided on Island for 6 months. The 6 month is taken from the date on the dependents stamp in the passport

If your license has already expired and it�s not possible to renew it in the country that issued it � or you are seeking a license in a different category (i.e. you have a motorcycle license and want a car license) � you must go through the normal process to drive legally.

If you have a UK driving license there is no requirement to exchange it for an Akrotiri one, unless you take your initial driving test or adding additional driving categories to your current license. On completion of your test you will be issued with an Akrotiri driving license. Once returned to the UK you can exchange your Akrotiri driving license for a UK one, all driving categories will be moved across.

Drivers considered normally resident in Akrotiri are required to get a driver�s license/permit � by taking lessons at a driving school and passing written and practical tests, if not already in possession of an unexpired license issued abroad.

Ask residents in your area for a recommendation or visit a few schools and choose one. Each school has a different schedule of classes and pricelist, and classroom lessons can begin immediately.

At the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office they will keep your original driving license and take copies of the other documents. Because you are only allowed to have one driving license, you will not get your original driving license back. If you for some reason need to have your license back, the exchange procedure will be stopped. You will receive a copy of your original driving license and a temporary driving permit valid for maximum 3 months, which will allow you to drive in Akrotiri.
