Procedure

Apply in-Person:

1. Approach the Puducherry, Electricity Department and collect the Application form for temporary electricity supply.
2. Refer to the “Office Locations & Contacts” section in this procedure to see the respective address and contact details. Contact link: Link
3. You can also download an appropriate form from this link.
4. Fill in the form and submit it at the respective office along with the required documents.
5. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
6. The applicant will be contacted by respective officer /Call Centre Representative on email/mobile provided by you for verification.
7. Once verification and payment procedure is successful, connection will be effected according to consumer’s application.

1. To apply for temporary electricity connection in Maharashtra online navigate to the link Link
2. Select Category as “Temporary Supply”.
3. Click on the button “For Apply, Click here”.
4. Select Application Category as “New Connection”.
5. Select respective area and enter your Name and Mobile no.
6. Enter OTP and click on the submit button.
7. Enter all the prompted details. Refer to the “Required Information” section on this procedure.
8. Click on “Save & Next”.
9. Enter Address details and plot details.
10. Upload all the required documents.
11. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
12. Once uploaded click on the Save & Next button.
13. Temporary New Connection Applied Successfully message will be shown along with the application no.
14. The respective authority will visit the provided site for inspection.
15. On satisfactory inspection in all respect by the officials payment has to be done accordingly.
16. After payment, connection will be effected according to consumer’s application.

Eligibility

Provide eligibility criteria's for going through this procedure.

Fees

Temporary supply for one day to public meetings and government functions with a connected load of 2 KW or less will be extended on payment of a fixed charge of Rs.50/- per service or as applicable as per tariff in force.
The prospective consumer shall apply for temporary supply in the prescribed form to the O&M sub-division office. He shall pay fixed charges towards service and consumption charges as noted below :

(i) For marriages and other functions    

(a)     Sanctioned load of 2 Kw or less     ...     Rs.50/- per day subject to a minimum of Rs.100/- per service    

(b)     Sanctioned load of more than 2 Kw but less than 5 Kw     ...     Rs.100/- per day subject to a minimum of Rs.200/- per service    

(c)     Sanctioned load of 5 Kw or more nut less than 10 Kw     ...     Rs.200/- per day subject to a minimum of Rs.400/- per service

(ii) For floor polishing and water pumping and such other construction purposes :    

(a)     Sanctioned load of 3 Kw or less     ...     Rs.30/- per day.

Validity

The temporary connection will be available as long as the mentioned period by the applicant.

Processing Time

The date of availing the temporary supply may be got amended by the consumer, by applying to the authority who has issued the orders before the commencement date indicated in the order. However, any alternate date proposed shall commence within 15 days of the date of the first order.
