For citizens or foreigners wishing to operate the following types of vehicles:
- Motorcycles with cylinder capacity of less than 50 cm3: 16 years and up
- Motorcycles with cylinder capacity exceeding 50 cm3: 18 years and up
- Light Vehicles: 18 years and up
- Heavy duty motors: 21 years and up

ValidityEdit
Validity of the license will depend on the result of the medical or psychometric examination the license holder need to go through. Validity of the license will also depend on the following:
- Holders of categories A, B and E + B must renew their license after the age of 65 and 70. Beginning at the age of 70, the license will need to be renewed every two years.
- Holders of category C licenses must renew their licenses for the first time at the age of 60. For category D license holders renewal of the license for the first time will be when they turn 55 years old. For categories E + C e E+ D license holders, renewal of the license will begin at the age 50. Starting at the age 65, drivers who holds licenses under these categories must renew their license every two years.

According to Rule 122 of the Highway Code, driving licenses can only be issued to those who meet the following requirements:
- Possess the minimum age requirement in the category being applied for.
- Physically, mentally and psychologically fit
- Resides in the national territory
- Not banned or disqualified to obtain a license
- Passed the driving test
- Knows hot to read and write
