Procedure

1. Go to the Canadian Automobile Association office.
2. Complete and sign the CAA IDP application form (no other form is acceptable).
3. Present and submit required documents, including the application form.
4. Pay the fee.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be a valid driver license holder.

Fees

IDL - $25.00

Validity

A Canadian IDL is only valid outside Canada and is valid for only one year from the date of issue. You must reapply if you need another one.

Instructions

International Driving Permits are issued in Canada by the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) and must be procured before leaving Canada.
