Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for Permanent Residence, the applicant should visit the Fiji Immigration Department. The overseas applicant must send the application form to the Director of Immigration. Contacts
2. The application form should be obtained from the authorities in the Immigration department or else can be downloaded from the website. Application Form
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The application form should be filled with necessary details, and then it should be submitted along with the required documents to the Director of Immigration Department.
5. The permanent residence status is provided on the basis of various norms such as Assured Income, Medical Reasons, and Unite with Family.
6. The immigration department officer will go through the application form and grant the permanent Residence permit to the eligible applicant.
7. The applicant must personally visit the Fiji Immigration office to get the permanent resident card.

9. The process of getting the permanent residence card will take up to 3 working days from the date of the permit fee payment.
   

Apply Online:

1. To apply for a Fiji Permanent Residence permit, the applicant must visit Fiji Immigration’s official Website. Online Link
2. The applicant can directly start applying using this link, there is no separate account creation is required.
3. Before starting the application form, make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The document requirement checklist is also available on the online portal.
5. Make sure to carry all the documents in PDF format.
6. The maximum limit of document to upload in the online portal is 30.
7. On the webpage, the applicant must fill in all the necessary details and then upload the documents.
8. The applicant should give a valid email address and phone number, which will be used for further communication purposes.
9. After uploading the required documents, apply by selecting the “Submit” option.
10. The payment must be done via Direct Deposits.
11. After the payment confirmation, the permanent resident application will be verified and approved by the Immigration Officer.
12. The process of getting the permanent residence card will take up to 3 working days from the date of the permit fee payment.

Eligibility

The applicant is eligible for permanent resident if;

• They have extended family in Fiji if applying for reunite with extended family pathway.
• If they are a Former Citizen of Fiji.
• If they have enough proof of funds if applying in assured Income Pathway.
• For assured income category, the applicant must deposit $ 10000000 in the Fiji’s local bank, and additional $30,000.00 and $40,000.00 for occupying family members.
• The applicant must have cleared police records in the resident country.

• Special Purpose to Reside Permit - $452.00
• Co-extensive Residence Permit (International) - $452.00
• Co-extensive (Regional) - $180.00
• For Assured Income Applicant – Under 45 years - $452.00
• For Medical Ground Application - $632.00

The permanent resident status is valid forever in Fiji.
