Apply In-Person:
- To obtain investment permit, applicant has to approach the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) contact link
- The applicant has to get application form from the respective authority, or download the application form from the given link application form
- Complete the application form with necessary details.
- Make sure you have all the documents in hand that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Applicant has to attach photocopies along with the application form.
- Submit the application form to the concerned officer.
- Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
- After verification process, authority will issue the investment permit to the applicant.

- Completed application form
- Copy of business license
- Summary of financial statement of the recent two years
- Feasibility study of the project
- Power of attorney, if application is made through an agent.
- Photocopies of Memorandum and Articles of Association.
- Photocopies of the relevant passport pages of each shareholder, if the company is to be established in Ethiopia.
- Clearance letter from the Ministry of Trade and Industry for the company name,
- 3 recent passport-size photographs if the investor is an individual person
- In the case of a joint investment with a domestic investor, a photocopy of the identity card or certificate evidencing domestic investor status
- List of capital goods and basic raw materials

Every investor is required to abide by the laws and regulations of the Country. An investor who submits an application for investment permit will, therefore, be automatically taken for unconditional commitment to all laws, regulations, directives and specifically those related to the specific investment area.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- The investment permit should be used only for the purpose of implementing the approved investment project.
- The Investment permit can be obtained in one of the following ownership forms:
- Sole proprietorship;
- Business organization incorporated in Kenya or abroad;
- Public enterprises; and
- Cooperative societies.
