Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Application for getting International Driver License (IDL) is available in Ministry of Transport, Tanzania contact link
2. Applicant must procure the application form for this service from Ministry of Transport, Tanzania.
3. Applicant has to enter all necessary details in the application form.
4. Applicant must carry photocopies and originals of all documents that are required for completing this procedure.
5. Documents that is required for completing this procedure is mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. Applicant has to attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form while submitting.
7. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
8. Applicant has to take up theory and practical test for getting International Drivers License.
9. Applicant has to take driving lessons in a certified driving school in Tanzania for easing up the test that is taken for getting license.
10. If all above-mentioned procedures were followed properly, the license will be provided within one month.
11. Applicant will be notified about their license availability, they can visit the office to collect their license.
12. If there is no information regarding the license, applicant can visit the office for knowing about the status of their application.
