Need for the DocumentEdit
International Driving Permits (IDP) are an internationally recognised documents that allows an individual to drive overseas. Requirement for an IDP varies from country to country but it's recognised in most countries. It will be good to hold an IDP especially if you are planning to drive in a country where English is not a native language since an IDP is a translation of your local licence into many languages.
IDPs can only be obtained from the AA. Following are procedures on how you can apply for one.
Information which might helpEdit
You must also carry your current New Zealand's driver's licence with you when you travel. For security reasons it will be better if you keep your IDP and New Zealand driver licence separately when travelling.
