Procedure

The Practicing license/Certificates for SCNs, PCNs, and SCTNs expire on the 31st of January each year and those of the General Nurses expire on the 31 March each year, application should be submitted at least a month before the expiration of the current license/certificate to the Nursing Council of Zimbabwe (NCZ) office Council Contact Details

Apply in Person:
Step 1: Make a renewal payment

1. This process should be the first step for an easier renewal procedure. Make payments of renewal fees as specified by the Nursing Council of Zimbabwe (NCZ) to the council accounts. Payments should be made through the following bank accounts and proof of payment (Bank Payment receipt) shared with the council registrar's office.

Step 2: Make the application for renewal of the practice license:

1. Applicants should visit the Nursing Council of Zimbabwe (NCZ) Registrar offices to make the application.
2. The application shall be made in such a manner as prescribed by the Council, applicants will be required to complete the license renewal form obtainable at the council regional offices.
3. Carefully complete the forms with appropriate information under relevant sections then attest the forms with your signature once completed, attach all the supporting documentation as listed under the “Required Documents” section below, before submitting the complete dossier for verification and processing.
4. After the successful screening of the submitted documents, Where the registry office is satisfied that the applicant has complied with all the requirements as may be applicable; and has continued demonstrating a capacity to meet the obligations and compliance requirements as stipulated by the Council, it shall, within thirty days of receiving the complete application, approve the application.
5. The applicant will be notified to collect his/her Practicing license via text or phone call. One is required to bring proof of identification and surrender the expired license before being issued the renewed license.

• Two (2) recent identical colored passport photographs with white backgrounds.
• Expired license.
• Identity Card
• Photocopies of certificates of registration.
• Continuing Professional Development Logbook.
• Original evidence of Payment of all applicable fees.
• Any other additional supporting documentation as requested by the Authority.

Eligibility

• The individual should be registered with the Council and a holder of a practicing license.
• To be of good reputation and commendable conduct.
• To have never been sentenced in a felony or misdemeanor (for a custodial penalty in a crime involving moral turpitude or breach of trust, unless rehabilitated in either case). In short, not to have a criminal record.

Validity

• The Practicing Certificates for SCNs, PCNs, and SCTNs expire on the 31st of January each year and those of the General Nurses expire on the 31 March each year.
• Application received after the deadline will attract a penalty fee of 50% of the subscription due fees.
