This procedure explains various ways to Update Your Drivers License Record in Zamboanga Peninsula.
Apply in PersonEdit
- Here's how you can update your driver's license record with the Land Transportation Office (LTO). Before you visit a LTO branch, check first if you need to book an appointment online ahead of your visit. Note: LTO just launched a new website portal called the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) which you can use to set up an appointment and transact with LTO. But not all LTO offices in the country is connected to the system. Some offices may still accept walk in applicants. It is very important that you check first before you go to a LTO office.
- At the LTO office, ask where can you get an Application for Driver’s License (ADL) form. To save you some time, you may also check the link provided under 'Documents to Use' section which you can click to download the Application for Driver’s License (ADL) form. Once you have completed the form get a queue ticket and wait for your number to be called.
- Submit your completed ADL form together with all the requirements. Don't forget to attach your queue number.
- Proceed to the Cashier to pay the application fee.
- Go to the encoding / biometric window and complete the form for encoding of your details into the new LTO-IT system.
- You will be informed by the LTO officer when can you come back to collect your OR (Official receipt) and your new driver's license.
- When you collect your drivers' license (DL), you will be asked to sign in the log sheet before your license is released to you.

Change of name:
- Completed Application for Driver’s License (ADL) Form
- Original copy of request for revision with any of the following (whichever is applicable):
- Original copy and a photocopy of the Court Order authorizing the change of name
- For widows, original copy and one photocopy of the death certificate of the deceased husband
- Authenticated Birth certificate and marriage contract with annotation. In areas where there is no PSA branch, present the original copy and submit one photocopy of the birth certificate and marriage contract validated by the Office of the Local Civil Registry with attached Official Receipt.
Correction of name / birth date:
- Completed Application for Driver’s License (ADL) Form
- Authenticated Birth certificate. In areas where there is no PSA branch, present the original copy and submit one photocopy of the birth certificate validated by the Office of the Local Civil Registry with attached Official Receipt.
Change of civil status:
- Completed Application for Driver’s License (ADL) Form
- Original copy and one photocopy of the marriage contract. If marriage contract is not in English or Filipino, submit official English translation. In areas where there is no PSA branch, present the original copy and submit a photocopy of the birth certificate and marriage contract validated by the Office of the Local Civil Registry with attached Official Receipt
- If annulled, present the original copy and submit a photocopy of the court order or marriage contract with annotation
- Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR), if applicable
- If married abroad, present the original copy and submit a photocopy of your passport showing your married name or copy of the "report of marriage" submitted at the Philippine Consular Office where the marriage took place.
Change in citizenship
- Completed Application for Driver’s License (ADL) Form
- Present the original copy and submit a photocopy of your Passport / i-Card (first page, visa page and departure in the Philippines and latest arrival overseas).
- Certificate of Re-acquisition of Citizenship, Identification Certificate or Oath of Allegiance.
Change of address:
- Completed Application for Driver’s License (ADL) Form
- Present the original copy and submit a photocopy of your Barangay Certification/Clearance or Proof of Billing

- With the recent passing of Republic Act (RA) No. 10930 validity of driver's licenses were extended from three years to five 5 years. LTO also now follows a "demerit points" system. Under this system, if you are a driver with a spotless record (no violation), then you can enjoy a longer license validity starting October 2021. That means when you renew, your new license can have a validity of 10 years.
