This procedure explains various ways to Transfer Senior Citizen ID Card in Zamboanga City.

Apply In Person

  1. To transfer a Senior Citizen ID Card you will need to go to your local Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) which is under the municipal or provincial government unit where you want to transfer.
  2. To apply for a new one you may be asked to present these following documents:
    • Completed application form (can be obtained from the OSCA office or downloaded online)
    • 2 pcs. 1x1 photos of the applicant
    • OLD Senior Citizen ID Card
  3. Please note that the required documents needed for the procedure may vary per municipality. You may check your local government unit's website to know exactly which documents you will need to bring when you apply for the procedure. Provided under the "Office Locations & Contacts" section are links to the website of different municipal and provincial offices also their contact information. It might be a good idea to call the OSCA office first and directly ask what are the documents they will need you to submit before actually going to the office.
  4. Once you have gathered all the needed documents, the applicant or his/her authorized representative must go to the OSCA office.
  5. Approach the clerk/front desk officer and ask for a copy of the application form for you to complete. Note: Some local OSCA offices made their forms available for download online so don't forget to check their website first.
  6. After completing the form, submit it together with all the required documents. The clerk will acknowledge receiving your application and in some OSCA offices they will even give you a claim stub.
  7. The clerk will tell you when you should come back to the OSCA office to claim your ID card.
  8. To receive your senior ID card, you will be asked to present a valid ID document.

A customer who still incorrectly dials the old seven-digit number will hear a special announcement saying the format has been changed to eight-digit, for a period of three months after the migration (March 18, 2019 to June 17, 2019).

Need for the DocumentEdit

Under the Senior Citizens Act, senior citizens are entitled to a 20% discount and exemption from the value-added tax (VAT) on certain goods and services for their exclusive use. There are also other benefits and privileges that are granted to senior citizens under the said law, and before a senior citizen can access those benefits and privileges they will be asked to present their senior ID card as proof of their eligibility.
