This procedure explains various ways to Renew National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance in Zamboanga City.

Apply Online

1. Here's how you can apply to renew your National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance online. Please note that the renewal process is in two parts. The first part is the online application. All applicants are required to scheduled their appointment with NBI online. The second part is taking the applicant's biometrics and release of NBI clearance which must be done in person.
2. To begin your application visit NBI’s ONLINE REGISTRATION AND APPLICATION SERVICES.
3. When the page loads, the Data Privacy Content pop up will appear, click the “I AGREE” button to proceed.
4. Another pop up will appear containing latest advisories from the NBI. Simply click the “CLOSE” button to move on with your application.
5. If you have been issued an NBI clearance from the year 2014 to present, and it is your first time applying online, you will need to register to the website first. Simply complete the registration form, and when you are done, click the “PROCEED” button. If you have requested an NBI clearance before online, you may proceed with the renewal process by logging in to your account. Enter your email address (the one you used when you registered), your password and then click the “SIGN IN” button.
6. When you click the “Application” button on the menu, you will see that your profile, under ‘Application Type’ is showing a ‘RENEW’ status. In this case you may go ahead and click the “APPLY FOR CLEARANCE” button. NOTE: NBI will use all the information you have provided the last time you applied for a clearance. In case there are changes in your personal information like address, name, or civil status, make sure that you edit your profile first. To do this, just click “EDIT INFORMATION” on the menu (it's on the right side of the page).
7. On the pop up, indicate the type of valid ID you will be presenting for the procedure (you will be asked to show the same ID on the day of your appointment). You will also need to provide the ID number. Once you are done, click the “I Agree” button.
8. A reminder about the importance of the reference number will appear. Once you are done reading, click the “Close” button.
9. Next, you will be asked to set up your appointment. First, select an NBI Branch where you would like to renew your clearance. Use the drop down menu for this action.
10. After choosing a branch, you will then need to select a date and time for your application.
11. You will see on the right side of the page, a summary of your schedule, payment details and deadline for the payment.
12. In order to complete your transaction you will need to pay for the clearance before the deadline. And when you pay, you will be asked to indicate the reference number of your transaction on the payment form. To view your reference number, click “Transactions” on the menu (it's on the left side of the page). Your transaction status will be labeled ‘Paid’ once your payment have been cleared by the system.
13. Now for the second part of the application process, you will need to show up on your chosen NBI Clearance issuing branch on the date of your appointment. Do not forget to bring a valid ID (the one you provided on your application) and your reference number written on a piece of paper.
14. NBI will take a photo of you, scan your fingerprints and save a digital copy of your signature.
15. If your application resulted to 'No Hit' that means you have no criminal record. You may now proceed to the printing area and collect your NBI Clearance. For those who got a ‘With Hit’ result, you will need to come back as advised by the clerk. Take note of the date and keep your receipt, you will need it when you collect your clearance. Note: Getting a 'With Hit' result doesn't mean you have a criminal record, this happens sometimes specially if you have a fairly common name or there's another person with the same name as yours. NBI just need additional time to confirm your details.

Applicants are required to present any TWO (2) of the following government-issued IDs:

• UMID Card
• Passport
• Driver's License
• Birth Certificate authenticated by PSA (original copy)
• Other government-issued IDs

Note: Non-Government issued IDs such as company IDs and Barangay Clearance are NOT ACCEPTED as valid IDs in processing NBI clearance.

Instructions

The NBI Clearance Processing strictly implements the "NO APPOINTMENT NO ENTRY" POLICY for NBI clearance applicants. No appointment will be available on the same day of application.

All NBI Clearance applicants will need to register online and have their appointment date set in advance.

Need for the Document

• You can use your NBI Clearance as proof of identity in many different transactions. You will be asked to present your NBI clearance when you apply for a passport or take the board exams (PRC). You cannot submit an expired NBI Clearance when applying for these transactions that's why you need to check the validity of your NBI clearance before submission and renew it immediately if need be.
