This procedure explains various ways to Obtain Certificate of Tribal Membership (CTM) in Zamboanga City.

Apply In PersonEdit

  1. Here's how you can obtain a Certificate of Tribal Membership (CTM). Applications are processed by the National Commission On Muslim Filipinos (NCMF). You can go to NCMF's office in Quezon City or any of their regional offices to apply.
  2. Proceed to Bureau of External Relations (BER) and ask where can you obtain a request form.
  3. Complete the request form and submit it to the person-in-charge.
  4. The person-in-charge will conduct a short interview to aid in evaluating your application. You will also be required to present the original copy of your birth certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and submit a photocopy, if you will be using the certificate to apply for a passport.
  5. You will also need to present a valid identification card, submit 2x2 ID picture and in case you need the certificate for visa stamping, you will also need to submit a copy of your passport.
  6. After your application is evaluated your information will be encoded by the person-in-charge in their database.
  7. Next, you will be directed to the photo capturing booth.
  8. After taking your photo, your personal information will be reviewed and checked for correctness.
  9. Once your application is approved by the Bureau Director the Certificate of Tribal Membership (CTM) will be released to you.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • You may present your Certificate of Tribal Membership (CTM) as a form of identification. You may also present the document when you apply for a passport, visa stamping, local employment or claiming money.
  • You can also present your CTM if you are applying to be part of the police force and you did not meet the standard height requirement (height requirement may be waived in your case).
