ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for an aircraft registration in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Zambia Civil Aviation Authority, for the main office visit link.
  2. Make sure that you have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant upon visiting the Zambia Aviation Authority office.
  4. Once understanding the guideline properly, the applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
  5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
  6. Approved applications will be required to take an exam to check the suitability of the aircraft to be registered.
  7. When the exam is conducted successfully, the applicant will be eligible for the certificate.
  8. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page.
  9. After the completion and verification of all the required documents, the license will be accessible.
  10. Upon completion of above steps the applicant gets the registration certificate in a stipulated Period of Time.

EligibilityEdit

  • The aircraft should be a series aircraft.
  • Applicants should be citizens of Zambia or a bonafide resident in Zambia or such other person as the Director may approve.
  • Applicants can be bodies corporate;
  • Established under and subject to the law of Zambia.
  • Established under and subject to the laws of such other countries as the Minister may approve.




FeesEdit

  • Where aircraft’s maximum weight does not exceed 2730 kg: K 150.
  • Where aircraft’s maximum weight exceeds 2730 kg but does not exceed 5700 kg: K 250.
  • Where aircraft’s maximum weight exceeds 5700 kg: K 350.



ValidityEdit

  • This licence will be valid as per mentioned in the permit.

InstructionsEdit

  • If the usual station of an aircraft and its ordinary area of operation are not situated in Zambia and the owner of the aircraft is neither resident nor has his principal place of business in Zambia, the Director may decline to accept an application for registration of the aircraft in Zambia, or, as the case may be, to permit the aircraft to remain registered in Zambia if in his opinion the aircraft could more suitably be registered in some other country.

    • Design
    • Construction, including workmanship and materials.
    • Instruments and equipment.
    • Weighing
    • Flying trials and other tests result.
  • For Applicant: Name, Residential, Postal and Notification address, NRC number or passport number.



Need for the DocumentEdit

  • The obtained registration makes the holder owner of the registered aircraft for the time mentioned in the permit.

  • The Director may decline to accept an application for registration of an aircraft in Zambia if in the circumstances it appears to him to be inexpedient in the public interest that the aircraft should be so registered.
