Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for import license for poisons and medicines license in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Health Professions Council office of Zambia, for the main office visit: link.
2. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. The application form can be obtained from any nearest office of the Health Professions Council.
4. An application form will be provided to the applicant upon visiting the Zambia Medicine Authority office.
5. Once understanding the guideline properly, the applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
6. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
7. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page.
8. After the completion and verification of all the required documents, the certificate will be accessible.
9. Upon completion of above steps, the applicant gets the import license in 30 days.

• The World Health Organisation (WHO) pharmaceutical certificate of quality and free sale certificate.
• Passport (for non-Zambians).
• NRC.
• ZRA clearance certificate.

• The applicant must be a bonafide resident of Zambia.
  

Fees

Pay as per authorities prescribed as the Council may determine different fees for different categories or classes of medicines and poisons.

The license will be valid for the period mentioned in the license.

• The distributor's name and address.
• The designation of the person signing the application.
• Any other information which may be requested by the Board.
