Procedure

Apply In Person

1. To Export Honey, the applicant has to approach the Zambia Revenue Authority link
2. Ensure that the honey the applicant intends to export meets quality and safety standards. This may involve adhering to guidelines for honey processing, packaging, labeling, and ensuring that the honey is free from contaminants.
3. Register the applicant‘s business with relevant authorities, such as the Zambia Beekeepers Association or other relevant industry associations. They can provide valuable information and support for exporting honey.
4. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
5. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
6. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
7. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
8. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
9. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
10. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
11. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
12. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
13. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
14. For further process, the applicant has to follow the instruction given by the officer.
15. This entire process can be completed within 5 – 7 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Eligibility

To be eligible to export honey in Zambia if the applicant meets the following requirements:

• The applicant must be a registered honey producer with the Ministry of Agriculture.
• The applicant’s honey must be of good quality and meet the export standards of the importing country.
• The applicant must have a valid export permit issued by the Ministry of Agriculture.

Fees

• The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
