Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for a seed sampling certificate in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Seed Control and Certification Institute (SCCI) department of Zambia, for the main office visit link.
  2. Make sure that you have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant while visiting the Seed Control and Certification Institute office.
  4. Once understanding the guideline properly, the applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form, find the form on page 108 of this pdf file Link.
  5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
  6. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page.
  7. Concerned authorities will issue a receipt of payment.
  8. The seeds inspector or authorized officer will conduct the sampling and will submit a report.
  9. Upon successful assessment of the application by the authorities, the declaration will be assessed and given to the applicant.
  10. The applicant will get the required certificate in a stipulated Period of time.

EligibilityEdit

  • The applicant should be a bonafide resident of Zambia.
  • The applicant should be of legal age.



FeesEdit

  • Fee of sampling of seeds: ZK 6 per bag (container).



ValidityEdit

  • For cereals, pulses, oil crops, fiber crops and root crops: 9 months
  • For herbage grasses, and legumes, vegetables and stimulant crops: 12 months (from the date of completion of testing the seeds).

  • The seed class
  • Certification number
  • The species and cultivar of seed
  • Lot number
  • Purity (% by weight)
  • Germination capacity (% by number)
  • Expiry date
  • Warning text in case the seed lot is treated.

  • The certificate allows the seed lot which has been sampled to be moved from one place to another.
