Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a Large Scale Exploration License or Permit in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Mines and Minerals department office. Please tap on the following link to view contact details link.
2. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. An application form will be provided to the applicant upon visiting the Mines and Minerals department office.
4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
6. Pay the fee as per the authority’s request.
7. Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, the applicant will be issued a provisional offer letter.
8. Collect the license from the respective office in a stipulated period of time.

• Programme of intended mining operations.
• Any other document as the Director of Mining Cadastre may request.

• The applicants should be a bona fide national of the country.
• Any Zambian Individual miners and mining cooperatives can apply.

Fees

• Pay as per authority’s request.

Validity

• The validity of the license can be a maximum of 25 years.
