Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for conversion of a white book in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Road Transport and Safety Agency of the respective area, for the main office visit link.
2. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. An application form will be provided to the applicant upon visiting the Road Transport and Safety Agency office.
4. Once understanding the guideline properly, the applicant has to fill-in all the necessary information in the application form given by the road transport department.
5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
6. Pay the fee as per given in the “Fees” section of this page.
7. A physical inspection will be held to check the motor vehicle.
8. Upon satisfaction of the authorities, motor vehicles can be provided with a converted white book.
9. When the vehicle is registered at any RTSA station in Zambia, the certificate will be accessible.
10. The applicant gets the conversion certificate in a stipulated period of time.

• Original old white or blue book.
• ZRA clearance certificate.
• Clearance from the Local Authority where the vehicle or trailer was registered.
• Zambia Police Anti-Motor Vehicle Theft Clearance Report.
• RTSA physical inspection report at a fee of K47.
• Copy of identity of owner or certificate of incorporation.
• General affidavit.
• Motor vehicle or trailer picture.

Instructions

• The holder will face legal consequences if anytime it's found that he/she has forged the documents of the motor vehicle.
• A vehicle or trailer must be presented physically to the registration centre.
