Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a change of ownership by auction in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Road Transport and Safety Agency of your area, for the main office visit: link.
2. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. An application form will be provided to the applicant at the Road Transport and Safety Agency office.
4. Once understanding the guideline properly, the applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form given by the road transport department.
5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
6. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page.
7. The application will be processed and after the satisfaction of the authorities, the certificate will be accessible.
8. After the verification of all the documents, the applicant gets the original license in a stipulated time.

• Zambia Revenue Authority tax clearance certificate for change of ownership.
• Zambia Police Anti-Motor Vehicle Theft Clearance Report.
• RTSA physical inspection report at a fee of K47.
• Copy of identity of owner or certificate of incorporation.
• Copy of certificate of incorporation/ registration of the registered auctioneer.
• Change of ownership certificate.
• General affidavit.
• Form MVR 1.

  • Must be a Zambian citizen.
  • Must be the owner of the vehicle in question.
    

Fees

The fee payable is ZK 434.

Validity

This licence will be valid for the period mentioned in the permit.
