Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for Incentives for Multi Sector Industries in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Zambia Revenue Authority, please tap on the following link to view contact details: link.
2. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. An application form will be provided to the applicant at the revenue authority office.
4. Once understanding the guideline properly, the applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
6. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page.
7. After the completion and verification of all the required documents, the incentive will be offered.
8. Collect the incentive permit or certificate from the office in a stipulated period of time.

Eligibility

An investor investing not less than five hundred thousand United States Dollars or the equivalent in convertible currency, in a priority sector or product, is entitled to incentives as specified by or under the Income Tax Act or Customs and Excise Act.

Fees

Application Fee: Pay as per the authority’s request.

Validity

An incentive offered will be valid for a period of five years from the grant of the licence, permit or certificate.

Instructions

• An investor will not be entitled to the incentives provided unless the investor holds a licence, permit or certificate of registration under the Zambia Development Agency Act.
• Any machinery or equipment acquired by — (a) a business enterprise conducting operations in a priority sector or in respect of priority products or (b) a rural enterprise will be exempted from customs duties as specified by or under the Customs and Excise Act.

Need for the Document

The incentive allows a rebate, refund or remission of the whole or any part of the customs duty paid or payable in respect of machinery and equipment other than spares for the machinery or equipment, required for use by multi-sector industries.
