Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To obtain Commercial Retail License for Non-Consumables in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Ministry of Local Government office. Please tap on the following link to view contact details link.
2. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. An application form will be provided to the applicant upon visiting the Ministry of Local Government office.
4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
5. Submit the application form with “Required Documents” to the office.
6. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page.
7. Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, the applicant will be permitted for a license.
8. Collect the permit from the respective office in a stipulated period of time.

Eligibility

• Applicants should be a bonafide citizen of Zambia.

Fees

• License Fee for Small Businesses: ZK 333.00.
• License Fee for MultiNational Companies: ZK 667.00.

Validity

• The validity of the permit will be one year.
