Apply In-Person:
- The applicant has to reach out to U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development for the application. Contact details are mentioned in “Office Locations & Contacts” of this page. Or use the following given Contact Link
- An application form is available at the following Link
- The applicant should make sure to carry all the documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
- Applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the form and attach the photocopies of the documents that are needed along with the application form before submitting.
- The fee of this procedure is mentioned under the “Fees” section of this page.
- Submit the original application and all supporting documents to the USDA, Rural Development. If additional space is required, provide for by an attachment. Additional information may be obtained from the RBS National Office.
- Application received by the Agency will be reviewed and ranked quarterly and funded in the order of priority ranking. The Agency will retain unsuccessful applications for consideration in subsequent reviews, through a total of four quarterly reviews.
- The processing time may take 30 – 60 days. Contact nearest State office for further details.

EligibilityEdit
The following individuals are eligible:
- Nonprofits and cooperatives.
- Federally-recognized tribes.
- Public agencies.
The following are eligible to apply for a loan from the intermediary lender as an ultimate recipient:
- Ultimate recipients may be individuals, public or private organizations or other legal entities, given that:
- Majority ownership is held by U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
- The applicant owes no delinquent debt to the Federal Government.
- The applicant is unable to obtain affordable commercial financing for the project elsewhere.
- The project is located in an eligible rural area.
- The applicant has no legal or financial interest or influence in the work of the intermediary lender.
FeesEdit
- The fee may vary from state to state around $150.00 for the application.
- Contact USDA for more details about the fee structure.
- Funding is available to intermediaries:
- Up to $1 million.
- A single intermediary's total outstanding debt from the IRP cannot exceed $15 million.

- This program gives 1% low-interest loans to local lenders or "intermediaries" who re-lend to businesses in rural areas in order to improve economic circumstances and create jobs.

Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit
- The IRP initiative aims to reduce poverty in rural areas while also increasing economic activity and jobs.
- Loans are granted to local groups (intermediaries) for the development of revolving loan funds under the IRP programme.
- These revolving loan funds are also utilised to assist with financing business and economic development activity in disadvantaged and isolated communities in order to create or retain jobs.
