Apply In Person

1. To Apply for Architectural Drafter License, the applicant has to approach the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards link
2. Obtain a high school diploma or equivalent. Although not always required, it is beneficial to have a background in drafting, architecture, or a related field.
3. Pursue a degree or certificate program in architectural drafting or a related discipline from a community college, technical school, or vocational institute. Such programs can provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge in architectural drafting practices and software.
4. Look for internships or entry-level positions in architectural firms, construction companies, or engineering companies. Gaining practical experience will help you develop your skills and build a portfolio of work.
5. Become proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software commonly used in architectural drafting, such as AutoCAD or Revit.
6. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
7. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
8. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
9. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
10. Submit the application form and the documents to the authorized officer.
11. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
12. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
13. Then the application will be processed further.
14. If the application is approved, the applicant will be issued an Architectural Drafter license from the office.
15. This entire process can be completed within 15 - 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
