Apply Online
- To Obtain Permission (License) for Selling Arms and Guns, the applicant has to make the application online via the following link
- The applicant has to click the “State Home Department/DM/SDM/Other/MHA” button.
- Now select the category, state, district, name of the licensing authority, and service.
- The applicant has to enter the unique identification code (UIC), and captcha code and click the “Get Detail” button.
- To complete step – 2, the applicant has to enter all the details in license specific details segment.
- For the third step, the applicant has to complete the endorsement details.
- Next the applicant has to upload all the necessary documents which are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- There is no fee for this procedure.
- After completing all the processes, the applicant has to click the “Save & Submit” button.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee which is mentioned in “Fees” section of this page.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be downloaded. Please save it for future reference, it contains the application summary and contact details of the person to be contacted.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- Once the process gets completed successfully, the applicant gets the permission license with the authority's signature through email.
- The processing time for this procedure is up to 30 days.

Apply In-Person:
- To Obtain Permission (License) for Selling Arms and Guns, the applicant has to approach the State Deputy Commissioner office link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. Or the applicant can download the application form from the following link Refer Page No 101
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference, it contains the application summary and contact details of the person to be contacted.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- Once the process gets completed successfully, the applicant gets the permit with the authority's signature through email.

- identification proof along with two recent photographs of all the directors
- copy of the latest balance sheet of the company and audited copy of the Net-worth certificate duly certified by a Chartered Accountant
- Estimated project outlay and means of finance for funding the project duly certified by a Chartered Accountant
- complete details of the arms and/ or ammunition intended to be manufactured or proof-tested or both, including their types and quantities.

- The applicant company is owned and controlled by resident Indian citizens or by Indian companies, owned.
- The applicant must be above 18 years of age.
- The applicant must be free from criminal records.

- The Arms and Ammunition Dealers having been granted licences in Form XI, XII, XIII or XIV shall be issued a composite licence in Form VIII for Dealer Licence and for Deposit of Arms and Ammunition. The licences are to issue by the State Governments and renewed by the District Magistrates. The dealers who wish to extend the services of minor or major repairs of firearms shall have to obtain a licence in Form IX or Form IX-A as applicable.
