ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. Immediately on the loss (if the voter ID is lost or misplaced) of original voter ID card, the applicant must lodge a complaint in the nearest Police Station and obtain the “FIR” copy.
  2. The applicant shall visit the Electoral Registration Office of applicant’s place of residence to know the applying process for a duplicate voter identity card.
  3. Contacts Link AND link2 in the given home page, please click on the “BLO/Electoral Officers Details” option under “Know Your” section for a new page. Here, please enter the voter ID number at the prompted space next to “Epic No.” and then click on the “Search” button for the page with respective contact details.
  4. Go to the respective office and consult with the designated authority to know the applying procedure. If apply in person is entertained, please collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.
  5. Please download the application using the following Link
  6. The application form has all the necessary guidelines for filling it in.
  7. Please complete the application form. Attach all the documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page and submit it to the designated authority. If the voter ID is damaged, then please attach the original remains of the voter ID.
  8. On receiving the application, the authorities will check the submitted application and documents to make sure that the application is complete and the required documents are in place. If all are in place, the authority will accept the application and issue a reference number.
  9. Please keep this reference number safe for future reference and also it will be used to track the application status.
  10. The application will be processed further.
  11. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile.
  12. The application details and documents submitted will be verified by the respective electoral authorities.
  13. On successful verification, applicant will be issued with a duplicate voter ID.
  14. The applicant shall collect the voter ID at the respective “VRC/CSC” or receive it by post or can collect it from the respective “BLO” based on the option that the applicant chooses at the time of applying.
  15. This entire process can be completed within 15 days or as per the department’s timeline as appropriate.
  16. This procedure doesn’t attract any fees. The applicants are advised to adhere to the department’s advice on payment of fees, if any. Maybe the applicant needs to pay for postal charges or CSC service charge as applicable.


Apply through online portal

  1. Go to the online website link
  2. In the given new window, click “login/register” button under “Login/Register to Avail following Facilities” on the left part of the screen.
  3. User will reach the login page. Please enter “User Name”, “Password” and “Captcha” as appropriate. Finally, click on the “Login” button to log in.
  4. If you are a new user then please use the “Don’t have account, register….” option to reach a “Verify Mobile Number” page. Here, please enter the mobile number at the prompted space followed by captcha and then click on the “Send OTP” button at the bottom to get an “OTP”.
  5. Please enter the received “OTP” at the prompted space against “Enter OTP” and then click on the “Verify OTP” button to reach a new page.
  6. Here, please click on the checkbox for “I have EPIC number” option and complete the prompts as appropriate. Also, please provide the password with the applicable pattern as notified below the prompts and click on the “Register” button to complete the registration and then login.
  7. Once login, the applicant will reach the home page. Here, please click on the “Search in Electoral Roll” option to reach a new page with a pop-up. Please click on the “Continue” button at the bottom.
  8. Here, if the applicant doesn’t have their voter ID then they shall use their details to search for the records or else they can use the “Search by EPIC No.” section.
  9. On selecting the “Search by EPIC No.” section, the applicant shall provide the “EPIC” number at the prompted space. Select the respective state from the dropdown list as appropriate and complete the other prompts as applicable. Finally, click on the “Search” button at the bottom to get the record details.
  10. Here, please click on the respective “View Details” button provided before the record detail that are appropriate for the applicant to reach the “Voter Information” page.
  11. Here, please go through the details for confirming the details and click on the “Form AA” button under “Online Voter Registration” section to reach the "Voter Registration” page.
  12. Here, the applicant shall scroll down and click on the “Form 001” option for “Replacement of Elector’s Photo..” to reach a new page.
  13. The applicant shall click on the checkbox for “Self” and click on the “Next” button. If the applicant is applying for the family, then please click on the checkbox for “Family”.
  14. The applicant will reach the “Form 001” page. Here, please select the respective state, district and assembly as appropriate. The applicant shall complete the other prompts as appropriate. The applicant shall enter the details in their regional language too.
  15. Once the prompted details are filled, please enter the reason for applying for a duplicate card at the prompted space against “Reason for applying for a duplicate card” and then please click on the applicable checkbox for collection/delivery of the duplicate card as appropriate from the given choices. The choices are, collect “EPIC” from VRC/CSC or receive “EPIC” by post or collect6 from BLO.
  16. Once the mandatory details are filled in, please enter the place, date, captcha as appropriate and click on the “Submit” button to get a confirmation page.
  17. The confirmation page will have a reference ID. Please save it for future reference.
  18. The applicant shall click on the “Track Status” button to reach the “Online Application Status” page. Here, please enter the reference ID at the given space against “Enter reference id” and click on the “Track Status” button to get the status.
  19. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile.
  20. The applicant shall follow the notification and also can track the status online as explained above.
  21. The department will process the application as appropriate. Once the application is processed, the status will be notified.
  22. The applicant shall collect the voter ID at the respective “VRC (Voter registration centre) /CSC” or receive it by post or can collect it from the respective “BLO (Booth level officer)” based on the option that the applicant chooses at the time of applying.
  23. This entire process can be completed within 15 days or as per the department’s timeline as appropriate.
