Apply In-Person

  1. To apply for the Adoption of Zoo Animal in WestBengal, the applicant has to approach the Zoo,
  2. The address related to the Zoos in WestBengal can be obtained from the “Office Locations and Contacts” Section of this page.
  3. After visiting the office, applicant has to approach the authority in charge of Animal Adoption.
  4. Obtain the Agreement (Annexure I) and Adoption form (Annexure III) from the Zoo authority or download the from here: Link
  5. After entering the details, submit both the forms along with the required documents at the Zoo office.
  6. The “Required Documents” section of this page will help you with the documents that will be needed during the application process.
  7. Pay the appropriate fees at the counter in cash/cheque/card/DD.
  8. Once payment is transferred successfully, Adoption membership card will be issued.

  1. To apply for adoption, the applicant can visit the official website link of West Bengal Zoo Authority .
  2. Fill up the necessary details, select the animal and name of the Zoo by scrolling down.
  3. Then click “Send” button.
  4. Zoo authority will contact you soon through call or mail for adoption service.

Any individual/organisation can Adopt Zoo Animal after paying the appropriate fee.

  • For Adoption rates, go to the official website link of West Bengal Zoo, download “Zoo Animal Adoption Scheme”, the rates are shown in “Annexure II” of the pdf.

ValidityEdit

  • Validity depends upon the number of years chosen to adopt an animal during adoption process.
  • Auto Renewal can be made through credit/debit cards or sendinga mail to Zoo authority. The contact details are available in “Office Locations & Contacts” section of the page.

InstructionsEdit

  • The Adoption membership is neither transferable nor returnable.
  • If the Adoption membership card is lost, new card will be issued after paying 500 INR.
  • If the address of the applicant has to be changed after adoption, mail should be sent to the Zoo authority informing name, old and new address and Adoption membership number.
  • The Applicant can withdraw his/her name anytime, but the money won’t be refunded.

Benefits of Adopting a Zoo Animal:

  • Adoption membership card with photo identity proof will be provided.
  • The adoption fee is eligible for Income Tax deduction under section 80G of the IT Act, 1961.
  • On completion of Adoption period, Official Certificate of Adoption will be provided.
  • Privileges such as a gift voucher for the zoo visit.
  • Publication of Information about the Adoption in the local newspaper.
  • Display of names/logo on the adopted Animal enclosure, depending upon the level of support.
  • Adopters will receive an annual report of the concerned Zoo.
