Step – 1 Testing center, Training

  1. To Apply for GED Certificate, The applicant has to use the following link
  2. The applicant has to enter the ZIP code to check the nearest center.
  3. While not mandatory, it’s highly recommended to prepare for the GED test to improve your chances of success.
  4. The applicant can find study materials, practice tests, and preparation courses online or at local adult education centers.
  5. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  6. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  7. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  8. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  9. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  10. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  11. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  12. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
  13. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  14. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.


Step – 2 Examination

  1. To schedule the examination, the applicant has to use the following link
  2. If the applicant is a new user, the applicant has to create an account by clicking the “Create an account”.
  3. Enter the email ID and password and click the “Create account” button.
  4. The applicant has to click the login using email ID and password and click the “Login” button.
  5. Now the applicant needs to schedule a date and time and click the “Submit” button.
  6. On the scheduled test day, arrive at the testing center on time and be prepared to complete the GED test.
  7. The GED test consists of four subjects: Reasoning through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies. Each subject is assessed through multiple-choice questions, essays, and other question formats.


Step – 3 Transcript

  1. After completing the GED test, you will receive your scores within a few days or weeks, depending on the state and testing center. The scores indicate your performance in each subject area.
  2. If you achieve passing scores on all GED test subjects, you will be awarded a GED certificate or diploma, which is recognized as the equivalent of a high school diploma.
  3. The certificate can be requested from the testing center or the state's GED office, depending on your location.

  6. Now the applicant has to click the “LOG IN TO GED ACCOUNT”
  7. Enter the email ID and password and click the “Login” button.
  8. Check the transcript details and click the “Download” option.
  9. This entire process can be completed within 3 – 4 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
