ProcedureEdit

  1. To renew a passport, applicants will need to apply in person at the Electoral Office. Note: Minors must be accompanied by their parents or guardians.
  2. Applicants will be asked to complete an application and submit it together with these following documents:
    1. Two recent passport photos (35 mm x 45 mm)
    2. Proof of parental authority for minors and proof of identity of the person exercising parental authority
    3. Proof of domicile or residence
    4. The old passport
    5. Proof of French nationality unless the applicant was born in France and that one at least of his parents was born in France;
    6. Proof of civil status (an extract from birth certificate with full parentage or, if the full copy of the marriage certificate)
  3. Pay the application fee.
  4. Once ready, your passport will be delivered to you.

You may use the link provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" to get in touch with the nearest French Embassy in the country you are currently staying. The Embassy's consular service section will process your request to renew your passport.

Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit

The Passport is an individual travel document which allows the holder to certify its identity.

Children, whatever their age, must have a personal passport; they cannot be registered on the passports of their parents. The applicant must be of French nationality.
