Virgin Islands(U.S) - Obtain a Duplicate Drivers License
ProcedureEdit
- Complete an Affidavit (purchased at the BMV), have it notarized and returned to the BMV.
- Submit any of the following documents along with your affidavit:
A valid U.S. Passport or Passport Card along with your Social Security Card.
Certified Birth Certificate with a government issued picture I.D. such as a Voter's Registration Card, Military I.D., etc. and your Social Security Card.
Permanent Resident Card along with your Social Security Card
A valid Employment Authorization Card along with your Social Security Card. The License will not be extended beyond expiration date
Certificate of Naturalization along with a government issued picture I.D. and your Social Security Card. **Naturalization Certificate Number will be noted in BMV's files but a copy will not be made.
Certificate of Citizenship (Department of Homeland Security issued Form N-560 or N-561) along with your Social Security Card.

Bring any of the following documents to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) to obtain a duplicate license:

EligibilityEdit
No person under 18 years of age shall be granted a license to operate a motor vehicle, and no owner or other person having the custody of a motor vehicle shall permit his motor vehicle to be operated by any person under 18 years of age, except that:
- Licenses may be granted to persons 16 or more years of age to operate motor scooters, mopeds or motor bicycles of a weight not to exceed 300 lbs and powered by a motor not more than 50 cc capacity;
- Learners permits may be granted to persons 16 or more years of age;
- Licenses may be granted to persons 16 or more years of age to operate motor vehicles provided that they have successfully completed an approved Driver Education Program. No license shall be issued under this section to any minor less than 18 years of age, unless sooner emancipated, except upon the written consent to the issuance of such license and the written assumption of financial responsibility for damages resulting from any torts committed by the minor arising from his operations of a motor vehicle, by the parent, guardian or other person responsible for the care, custody or control of such minor. School I.D. accepted.
