Procedure

Residents of Uttar Pradesh could get a new Drainage or Sewer connection through the following procedure.

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for a drainage or sewer connection, one has to visit the concerned divisional or subdivisional Jalnigam service office in your area. Telephone Directory
2. Before applying, please consult with the concerned authority regarding all the requirements necessary for getting a new drainage connection.
3. Procure the application form for sewerage connection by paying the required fee.
4. In the procured application form, fill all the required details.
5. Attach the photocopy of all the required documents with the application form.
6. Submit the documents at the respective concerned divisional or subdivisional Jalnigam service office and receive the acknowledgement receipt.
7. The documents will be verified and if the application is eligible, the applicant will be notified to pay the charges. Rejected applications will be returned to the applicant with intimation.
8. Pay the service charges as instructed and register your connection and receive the acknowledgement receipt.
9. Obtain permission for road cutting from the respective department if required.
10. Your application will now be forwarded to the concerned area officer for sanction.
11. Site inspections will be made by the authority officers and any correction regarding the application will be notified to the applicant.
12. After all the requirements and changes have been met by the applicant, the work order will be issued for the connection.

Apply Online

1. To apply online for a drainage or sewer connection, visit the e-nagarsewaup portal or click here on the direct Apply Online
2. If you are a new user, click on “Register”, enter the required details and click on submit to create a new user account.
3. Now login with your credentials.
4. From the given services select “Apply for water/sewerage connection”.
5. Fill all the required details in the displayed application form.
6. Upload the scanned copies of all the required documents.
7. Check for any corrections to be made before submitting the form. Submitted forms cannot be altered.
8. After successful submission of your application, the system will generate your application reference number in the dashboard or through sms. Please keep it safe for further reference.
9. After application verification, pay the required estimated fee through the portal for which you will receive the payment receipt.
10. Your application will be further processed to the area officer and necessary site inspections will be made with intimation.
11. Your application will then be sanctioned, and the connection will be provided.

Required Documents

Documents to be uploaded in the online portal:

• ID Proof (Scanned Copy) (PDF, Less than 200 KB) One of the following:
  • Voter ID
  • Driving Licence
  • Passport
  • Aadhaar Card
  • PAN Card
• Document Related to address Proof (Scanned Copy) (PDF, Less than 200 KB) One of the following:
  • Voter ID
  • Driving Licence
  • Passport
  • Aadhaar Card
  • PAN Card.

Generally required documents for Drainage connection:

• Ownership Certificate / Land property document
• Plan of the building, sanctioned by local authority
• Property Tax Assessment Number.
• Road Cutting Endorsement / receipt (If required)
• Proof of having paid taxes / charges up to date
• Affidavit as required.

Note: Other required documents have to be submitted if necessary. Carry the original and photocopy of the necessary documents for any cross verifications to be made. Keep the original documents ready during site inspection.

• The building should have proper rainwater harvesting arrangements.
• Building and internal plumbing works have to be completed.
• Water Tax should have been paid up to date.

Need for the Document
