Procedure

1. Go to the Directorate General of Civil Registry office.
2. Complete an application form.
3. Submit required documents.
4. Pay the fee.

Required Documents

• divorce certificate/divorce decree (if applicable)
• death certificate of former spouse (if applicable)
• under 18, parental to the marriage:
• birth certificate (if the minor's parents are not married)
• documentation legalized and translated by an authorized translator in this case in another language ( Legalization of Foreign Documents )
• submit duly legalized divorce (for foreign divorce judgment)

In hospitals Pereira Rossell Hospital, Clinics, Military or Canzani (only for patients thereof ) between the hours of Monday to Friday 9:30 to 14:40 hours.

The Interior:

• In the Peace Courts concerned .
• In the Office No. 14 in the City of Costa, Canelones:
  • The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 13:30.
• At the Office No. 15 in the City of Las Piedras
  • In the hours of 8:30 to 13:30.

Eligibility

Must be above 16 years old.

Fees

• marriage outside the office: $ 11,904
• marriage is desired in the office: $ 389
• additional witnesses: $ 487

Validity

Explain the time until which the certificate/document is valid.
