Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for Social Security Card, the applicant has to approach the Social Security office or any Social Security Card center nearby link

2. The applicant has to download and complete the application form given in the following application form
3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form (Incomplete application forms are not accepted)
4. Make sure the applicant has attached all the required documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Submit the application form along with the document to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service.
6. There is no fee for Social Security Card.
7. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
8. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
9. The authority will review the application and contact the applicant within two weeks.
10. Once the process gets completed successfully, the applicant will get the Social Security Card from the mail.
