United Arab Emirates - Renew Vehicle Ownership

ProcedureEdit

You may renew your vehicle ownership online, through kiosks, by applying at Services Centres or by calling the call centre.
Online:
1. To apply online click this link.
2. Enter the required information and pay the service fee by using your credit card.
3. You will receive a temporary copy of the ownership certificate through email.
4. In order to get ownership certificate and the sticker you may go through any of these following channels:
  Through a courier company for a charge of 20 AED. The courier company makes 3 attempts to deliver the certificate before sending it back to the centre where the customer collects it.
  Through the Customer Happiness Centre in Deira or Al Barsha
  Through kiosks by entering the details of the transaction. The customer receives the service from the printer of the kiosk.
You may also have your certificate renewed by using service kiosks:
1. Select the online services you are applying for.
2. Enter your vehicle's details
3. You will receive the ownership certificate and the sticker from the printer of the kiosk.
Apply through service centres:
1. Visit a service centre.
2. Submit all the required documents and settle the fees.
3. Your vehicle ownership certificate will be issued to you along with your vehicle ownership registration expiry sticker.
Call centres can also process your application for renewal:
1. Contact the call centre by using this number: 8009090
2. Inform the call centre personnel that you wish to renew your vehicle ownership certificate.
3. Pay the renewal fee by credit card.
4. You will get your temporary ownership certificate and the sticker through 1 of these following channels :
  Through a courier company for a charge of 20 AED. The courier company makes 3 attempts to deliver the certificate before sending it back to the centre where the customer collects it.
  Through the Customer Happiness Centre in Deira or Al Barsha

Required DocumentsEdit

Electronic insurance of the vehicle on a condition that the remaining period of the insurance is not less than 6 months
Technical inspection for vehicles if needed (new vehicles that were purchased from an authorised dealer by the Ministry of Economy are exempted from the technical test for 3 years starting the date of registration even if the owner changes. Companies' vehicles are not exempted from the technical test)
For companies: copy of the trade license to update the information
Electronically redeemed mortgage in case of a mortgaged vehicle

600 AED bus with a number of passengers exceeding 26
200 AED motorcycle

Note: If the ownership has been expired for more than a year, the fees become as follows:
