HOW TO APPLY
IN PERSON
- Visit the one of the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) offices locate near you approach the counter and request for the application form
- Read through the instruction carefully and fill the form accurately if you encounter any difficult please request for assistance from the staff
- NOTE
- If you do not have a TIN Number or passcode, please inform the attending officer who will issue you with one, through your email address
- NOTE
- Submit the filled formed with the required documents to the official who will verify the information are in order, whom will enter all your information into the URA computer system
- you will receive a message which will be displayed on the screen stating that the Login ID and password will be emailed to you, through your registered email within few days
- After receiving your Login ID and password you can now login and access the URA website eService’s portal
ONLINE
- The first thing you should have before creating an account, is an active TIN Number, which you can apply for at any URA office or website for free of charge
- With the TIN Number at hand, visit the URA website Apply onlineand click on “login create account”
- Under “Need login assistance”, click on “don’t have portal account”
- You will then be prompted to fill in your TIN, passcode, registration effective date and form for either individual or non-individual .i.e. personal information, email address, residential address
- Then click on” confirm” after verifying that all the information are correct, you will receive a message which will be displayed on the screen stating that the Login ID and password will be emailed to you, through your registered email within few days .Then click on “close” to leave the site
- After receiving your Login ID and password you can now login and access the URA website eService’s portal.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- A URA Account is mandatory for all Tax payers in Uganda, the same account is one which can be used for other issues related to taxes. And unlike in the past when things were done the manual way without such a need, currently things changed after the establishment of the e-Tax feature where by unless otherwise, all tax payers are required by laws to have their accounts with URA
