Apply In-Person
- Applicats wishing to apply for a clerical position with the Public Service Commission of Uganda can do this in person by making an application directly to the commission.Or You can visit the Ministry website on the following Link Ministry of Public Service
- This can be done by picking an application form in Person from the2nd floor Farmers House , or download the Application for Employment form from the Public Service Commission website which can be accessed through the following link Application for employment form PSC 3
- Fill the application form indicating clearly the post applied for; In this case “Clerical Position”.
- Send the duly filled application form together with the required documents to the PSC headquarters.
- Wait for the short listing process to be completed.
- Only successful candidates are contacted after the short listing. This is done mainly through a telephone call or Email.

EligibilityEdit
The minimum requirements for a clerical job are:
- Uganda Certificate of Education mean O level grade (Plain) or its approved equivalent
- Passes in Proficiency Examination for Clerical Officers
- Computer application skills
- Any other qualification that may be approved by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Service.

- The process depends on the government’s urgency of filling up the position, but it normally takes a period of three months for short listing and for interviews to be carried out.

InstructionsEdit
- One can apply for a job only when the commission has advertised a vacant clerical position.
- Serving officers should first register their personal profiles on the commission’s website before making the application for a job.
- The shortlisted candidates shall be required to produce their original Identity cards, academic and professional certificates and testimonials during interviews.
- Serving officers will be required to produce the original letter of appointment to their current substantive post before the interview.
- Complete all sections of the application form as appropriate in BLOCK letters and submit to the Secretary, Public Service Commission

- The application gives the applicant an opportunity to be employed by the Ugandan government as a clerk.

- The Public Service Commission is serviced by a Secretariat headed by the Secretary, Public Service Commission who is at the level of Permanent Secretary.
- He is deputized by the Deputy Secretary, Public Service Commission. The Commission is organized on the basis of three Departments namely:- Guidance and Monitoring headed by a Deputy Secretary, Selection Systems (SSD) headed by a Commissioner and Finance and Administration headed by an Under Secretary.
- Article 166 section 1 of the Public Service Commission (Amendment Act 2008) provides that a person who gives false or misleading information to the Commission is, on conviction, liable to a fine not exceeding 20 points Uganda Currency or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to both such fine and imprisonment
