Applying from Uganda
Apply In-Person

  1. Applicant should obtain Passport application Form G and any other information from the nearest Immigration Office or download on the Immigration website: immgration or Application forms
  2. Read through the instruction carefully and fill it accurately with a clear handwriting and sign it
  3. Applicant should then make payment for the application by visiting the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) website portal (check below)
  4. Upon printing out the acknowledgement payment receipt applicant should Head to the designated bank you had chosen on the URA fee application form and make the necessary payment upon which you will be issued with a bank receipt slip as proof of payment
  5. File your documents in a manila file folder and present them IN PERSON to the receiving officers at the Passport Receiving Section at the Ministry of Internal Affairs or your nearest Passport Control Office or the Regional Immigration Office.
  6. The attending official who will verify your document and then take your bio-metric information, upon which you will be issued with a slip indicating your receiving code and file number
  7. Collect your passport in Person after ten working days (normal passport applications) or two (2) working days (for Express Passport Applications) from the point where you submitted the application, unless advised otherwise by an Immigration Officer. You will be required to present your Receiving Slip and identifications at the time of collecting your passport at the Passport Delivery Office.

Online process

  1. Applicant should use the following steps to make your own assessment (register your payment) via the Uganda revenue authority (URA)
  2. Log on to URA , On the URA homepage, Click on e-Services
  3. you will be redirected to the next page ,Click payment registration
  4. Then Click other NTR. At this point, a form will appear requiring you to fill in the following:
    1. MDA: Select Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration.
    2. Other NTR Head: Select the facility you applied for. Remember the amount will fill its self by default.
    3. BPAF Number: File numbers begins with IM/Number/Year (Do not leave any space or gap while entering the file number).
    4. Payment Mode: Under Bank details; choose the preferred Payment mode, e.g. cash, cheque, etc.
    5. Bank Payment Mode: Manual
    6. URA’S Bank Name: Select URA's Preferred Bank of Your Choice. (E.G UBA, DTB, Orient, Etc.)
    7. Enter The Text Image As You See It.
    8. Click: Accept and register.
    9. Print out the acknowledgement payment receipt
NB: All fields marked with a red star are mandatory. Do not fill in the TIN number unless the computer asks.

Warning: Avoid Middlemen or Kayungirizi. Applications submitted by Middlemen will not be accepted/received by the immigration office or passport control office.

  1. Applicant should visit the Uganda embassy /consult or high commissioner at their current residing country for more inquire and information on the application process through them

  2. 3 Colored Passport size photographs with a white back ground.
  3. must attach a copy of their National ID
  4. Applicant must attach a copy of National ID or National Identification Number
  5. Attach copies of academic documents for proof of profession (where applicable)
  6. Attach proof of payment of prescribed fees (bank slip receipt)
  7. Attach a copy of birth certificate, adoption order consent letter from parents/guardians in case of minors
  8. Attach any other information that may be relevant to the application

InstructionsEdit

  • HOW TO COMPLETE THE FORM
  1. All applicants must come with a national ID at the point of interview.
  2. Parents must fill in the consent letter while applying for passports for their children.
  3. All first time applicants for must complete all sections except section 7 of this form.
  4. The recommender in section 8 should be a citizen of Uganda of some standing.
  5. Photograph
    1. Two copies (3) of recent passport size photographs of the applicant must be included with application.
    2. These photographs must be taken full face without a hat, veil and must not be mounted with the ears and eyes clearly seen.
  6. Applicants must appear with the respective documents where necessary for each section (ie. National ID (NIN), birth certificate, marriage certificate, dual citizenship certificate, naturalization certificate, letter of recommendation, copy of recommenders ID, consent letter, passport size photo, adoption certificate)
  7. Applicants should appear after payment using the various platforms; bank, debit card or VISA.
  8. Applicants may require their fingerprints to be taken at the time of submission.
  9. Lost, mutilated, damaged passports attract a fine of 100,000 shs
  10. The applicant must sign a statutory declaration (affidavit) in case of lost or theft

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • The East Africa passport enables East Africa Community countries citizen to be able to travel and reside within the East Africa boards freely without the need of applying for a visa (expect in Sudan) for a period of six months and can be extended when the time elapse

  • All Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration control (DCIC) services are paid for in any bank that collects NTR for Uganda Revenue Authority. You can easily make your own assessment before walking into the bank to go and make a payment. This will not only save your time, but it will also help to know the exact amount that you need to pay for the service.
