ProcedureEdit

  1. The applicant should Visit the Ministry of Agriculture Animal industry and Fisheries department of Animal Resources, pick and fill application form V cattle export
  2. After completing ,the filled Application forms should be submitted to the commissioner for Livestock and entomology for consideration.
  3. The applicant should present application form along with the following documents:
    • Proof of ownership of cattle to be exported
    • Make sure that you have all the required documents and get in touch with the commissioner responsible for cattle exports who may be able to give additional information.
    • Cattle Export agreement from financier of investment
    • Veterinary Health Certificate.
    • Valid risk Insurance Certificate
    • Name, date of birth, breed, description of the cattle
    • Cattle owner at present.
    • A veterinary statement giving the names of the cattle preparation applied during the examination.
    • Proof that the animal has been kept within 30 miles of foot and mouth disease.
  4. The applicant then pays the required fees and obtain a receipt of payment from the bank.
  5. Return to the Ministry of Agriculture animal Industry and fisheries with a receipt and obtain a valid government veterinary good health certificate issued at the point of origin valid at least 2 week from date of issue.
  6. If every condition of Licence is fulfilled and cattle inspection is done, a one year confirmed cattle trader’s Licence is issued to the applicant.

  • Identification of the cattle.
  • Animal Health Certificate.
  • Name and Address of the consignee.
  • Name and Address of the consignor
  • Test requirement done by a qualified Doctor.
  • Other Veterinary Treatment and inspection.
  • Endorsement by accredited veterinary officer.
  • Inspection report/certificate
  • Proof of payment for the animals/authorization from the owner of the animals
  • Application form for movement permit.
  • Applicant should prove that he or she has resources and experience to engage satisfactorily in the business of a cattle trade.
  • Filled application form endorsed by the area of operation District Veterinary Officer.
  • Proof that the applicant has never been convicted of an offense under the Cattle Traders Act and the Animal Diseases Act.

ValidityEdit

Cattle Export permits are only valid for 12 months from the date of the veterinary certificate.

InstructionsEdit

  • Any person who makes any statement which to his or her knowledge is untrue in any application for the grant or renewal of a cattle trader’s licence or for the endorsement of a licence commits an offence against these Rules and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding five hundred shillings or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding three months or to both.

  • Certificate of Incorporation,
  • The directors of the company.
  • Memorandum and Articles of Association
  • Information if the Applicant has ever been convicted of a criminal offence in Uganda or in any other country.
  • Information if you have ever acquired a Licence and state the nature of the Licence, date issued and the Licence number.
  • Signature of the applicant.
  • The Department of Animal Resources may require you to give information regarding the purpose of exporting the animal, and the location of facility where the animal(s) will be housed. You don't need to provide this information when your a new applicant.

The Purpose of this Licence is to regulate cattle export business in Uganda. There are restrictions on the importation of cattle of certain breeds.

Notes:

  • Prohibited: Cattle may not be exported, bred or used for breeding.
  • Restricted: Cattle may be exported once the conditions for keeping these cattle have been fulfilled by the Exporter. Cattle of these breeds may be bred only following receipt of a Breeders permit. New acquisitions of these Cattle require pre-approval.
  • Any rare, exotic or uncommon breed may also be refused permission to be exported.
