ProcedureEdit

  1. The Uganda Medical Dental Practitioners Council will advertise in the media annually calling for applicants to be register for annual dentist Licence.
  2. The interested parties, who wish to be registered and certified, must submit an application (Form CPD 2A) for accreditation, as well as all the relevant documentation and fees to the Uganda Medical Dental Practitioners Council.
  3. The Uganda Medical Dental Practitioners Council will forward the applications to the CPD Accreditation and certification Committee for procession.The Accreditation and Certification Committee will review and use the set criteria for assessment of applications.
  4. The results of the applicants to provide CPD will be sent to the Uganda Medical Dental Practitioners Council for final approval.
  5. Collect your Dentist Public and Private Practice License certificate from where your application was submitted within 14 days from the date the application was received at Uganda Medical Dental Practitioners Council in case there is no rejection

  • A copy of full registration or previous annual practicing license.
  • Duly filled annual practicing license application form
  • Verified Continuing Medical Education certificate of the previous year.
  • The name, address and qualification of the practitioner;
  • The employment number of the Applicant (if applicable);

EligibilityEdit

Any Dental practitioner who is trained in and outside the country must be registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners council (UMDPC) if she/he is to excise Dental practice in Uganda.

License Fee:

  • (a) Specialists - 200,000 Ugshs
  • (b) Generalists -100,000 Ugshs

Renewal Fee:

  • (a) Specialists - 200,000 Ugshs
  • (b) Generalists -100,000 Ugshs

InstructionsEdit

  1. A practitioner shall not share a consulting or waiting room with a person not registered with the Council as a practitioner; or has an entrance to or a nameplate at the entrance of such person’s consulting or waiting room or business.
  2. A practitioner shall not-
    • (a) Perform any act, which prevents the Council or the registrar from carrying out duty mandated by legislation.
    • (b) Communicate with a person whom he or she knows to be a witness at an inquiry in to his or her professional conduct on any aspect of the evidence to be given by such witness at the inquiry.
  3. A practitioner shall not contravene the conditions of practicing as a specialist.

Every practitioner engaged in active public or private practice shall be required to undergo a minimum continuing medical or dental education prescribed and organized by the council.
