ProcedureEdit

  1. To apply for a license you will need to acquire a Learner's Permit at the Turks and Caicos Road Safety Department (For those who already have a driver's license from another country, a learner's permit is not required).
  2. Purchase a Learner's Permit, and submit a photocopy of your valid identification.
  3. The Department will grant a learner's permit along with a study booklet.
  4. For the next 2 weeks, the applicant is expected to practice driving in a registered car, along with a licensed driver. The car must have the learner's permit "L" on the back of the vehicle largely displayed so that other drivers may take caution.
  5. During this time you will also need to study for a written and signs test, using your license study booklet as a guide.
  6. After the two weeks are completed, you are now qualified to apply for a Turks and Caicos License. To obtain a TCI driver's license you will need to pass 3 tests: road sign test, a written road rules test and an actual physical driving test. You must pass all three tests.
  7. Obtain an application form from the TCI Road Safety Department.
  8. Complete the form and submit it along with all other required documents.
  9. Pay all applicable fees.
