A. Apply online - Tunisia Obtain Police Clearance Certificate (Criminal Records Certificate, Certificat du Casier Judiciaire) Online with Images
  1. In order to apply for PCC online, applicant has to reach the online portal: link
  2. In the given page, please select “online” option from the right part of the page under “Online operations” session.
  3. Please complete the page prompt for “Identity information, Contact info, Validation, details of amount to be paid”
  4. Once all the above process are completed, User can take the printout of the receipt and use it for future reference.
  5. Applicant will get notification for further processing. Please follow as per the notification to complete the rest of the process to get certificate.


Applying process in Tunisia for citizen and non-citizen.

A. Apply in-person.
  1. Applicant shall apply for Police Clearance Certificate in-person with any “Direction de la Police Technique et Scientifique”.
  2. Address:

    General Authority of National Security,
    Ministry of Interior and Local Development,
    TUNISIA.
  3. Go to the respective office. Application forms can be obtained from the office on visit. Don’t forget to take the required copy of documents along with originals to the office.

  5. Please follow as per authorities guidelines and submit the completed application along with documents. Applicant should pay for any charges, if required as advised.
  6. This application will be processed by respective department.
  7. The certificate can be collected from the office where applicant applied in-person upon notification or issued as per norms.

A. Apply through embassy or consulate in-person.

  3. On the scheduled date, go to the office with all the document in original and in copy. Please follow as per officer guidelines to process your application.
  4. This application will be processed by the respective department. The completed certificates are forwarded to the concern.
  5. Applicant shall collect the certificate with the respective office upon notification or can get it delivered as per norms applicable.

  • Age: 16 years and above. In case of minors, the application must be submitted by the parent exercising parental authority, if the minor has not turned 16 years.

How to get a Police Certificate:

  • If you are a citizen of Tunisia:
    • In Tunisia: You can apply at your local police station.
    • Outside of Tunisia: You should apply at your nearest Tunisian embassy or consulate.
  • If you are not a citizen of Tunisia:
    • In Tunisia: You can apply at your local police station.
    • Outside of Tunisia: Certificates are not available to those who do not reside in Tunisia, unless you were born in Tunisia. If you were born in Tunisia, you should apply at your nearest Tunisian embassy or consulate.

A police certificate is an official document issued by police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may or may not have. Criminal records may include arrest, conviction, and possibly criminal proceedings.

Police certificate is also known as good citizen certificate, good conduct certificate, police clearance certificate, or judicial record extracts. Applicants may have to submit fingerprints and certain personal information to request a criminal record check, and the police or government agency may charge a fee. If no record found, the police certificate will indicate such.

In many immigration cases you may be requested by relevant Government to present Police Clearance Certificate from another country where you have resided for some time. If you are going through immigration process, you will definitely be asked for such a certificate.

Procedure for Getting PCC from Tunisia

For Resident Citizens:

  • Apply in person along with your National Identification Card.

For Non Resident Citizens:

  • Provide your National Identification Card.
  • Applicant can apply through the Tunisian embassy or consulate in your country of residence.

Note: If you are not a Tunisian citizen, you cannot obtain a certificate unless you return to Tunisia.

Time in getting PCC: Processing time is approximately two weeks if applying in Tunisia. There is no fixed time frame available if applying from outside Tunisia.



Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit

A police clearance certificate is a copy of your criminal record or a declaration of the absence of any criminal record. Police clearance certificates are different in each country and territory and may be called police certificates, good conduct certificates, judicial record extracts, pcc, etc. They are issued by police authorities or government departments and used by Citizenship and Immigration to prevent individuals who possess a risk to Country's security from entering the country.
