  • To Apply for Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License, the applicant must complete an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) course from a DGCA-approved institute. Use the following link to find out a DGCA-approved institute in the applicant’s region.
  • The course duration is typically four years, with two years of classroom instruction and two years of practical training. Then the applicant must pass the DGCA AME examination on the scheduled date.


Apply Online:

  1. To Apply for Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License, the applicant has to make their application online by using the following link
  2. Under AME tab, the applicant must click “New Candidate Registration” and read the instruction and click the check box and click “Submit”.
  3. Then the applicant must fill in all the required details that are required.
  4. Review the application and click “Submit”
  5. After submission an OTP will received to the applicant’s mobile number, enter the OTP and click “Submit”
  6. After submitting the Registration Form, candidate will receive link on the registered email address. The Link is valid for 24 hours from the receipt. Candidate needs to generate a Password. If the link is not activated within 24 Hrs, the registration process is required to be done again by the candidate.
  7. Candidate is now required to use the “Candidate Login” tab.
  8. After login Candidate required to fill up Personal Details, Study Details and Passport Detail (if applicable).
  9. Then the Candidate should appropriately select “Applicant Type” as mentioned on the tab.
  10. Then fill up Education Detail and ensure that filled details are correct before click on “OK” button.
  11. Then upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  12. Click on the Save and Submit button, the registration details will be updated and system would display the message “Records Saved successfully” and Review screen will come showing all the details filled inform.
  13. Review Form screen will appear, candidate must read all details in the review form before FINAL SUBMIT.
  14. Candidate has to at the box provided before “Final Submit‟. On successful submission, a pdf form of filled in formation will be created and the same will be sent to the registered email ID for his record purpose.
  15. candidate has to take print of pdf form sent on registered email, paste the same photograph which has been uploaded and sign in the designated box with black ink.
  16. Candidates are advised to attach all hard copies (SELF ATTESTED & LEGIBLE/ READABLE) of uploaded documents in same sequence as given in uploaded document list of printed pdf form, and must forward the same after completing all formalities to CEO by Speed Post, so as to reach within 10 days of date of submission of application online.
  17. The envelope containing the application MUST be super-scribed in capital and bold letters as “AME- APPLICATION FOR ALLOTMENT OF COMPUTER NUMBER”.
  18. Then the applicant will receive the details of examination and application fee as mentioned in “Fees” section of this page.
  19. The DGCA AME examination is conducted in two parts: a written examination and an oral examination. The written examination is a multiple-choice examination that covers a wide range of topics, including aircraft systems, aircraft structures, aircraft engines, and aircraft maintenance procedures. The oral examination is a practical assessment of the candidate's ability to perform aircraft maintenance tasks.
  20. The written examination is conducted at various centers across India. The oral examination is conducted at the DGCA's headquarters in New Delhi.
  21. The results of the written examination will be announced on the DGCA Pariksha website. The candidates who have passed the written examination will be called for the oral examination. The results of the oral examination will also be announced on the DGCA Pariksha website.
  22. The candidates who have passed both the written and oral examinations will be issued an AME license by the DGCA.
  23. This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

EligibilityEdit

Here are the eligibility requirements for applying for an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License in India:

  • The applicant must be at least 16 years old.
  • The applicant must have a minimum of 50% marks in his/her 10+2 examination.
  • The applicant must have completed an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) course from a DGCA-approved institute.
