Tripura - Apply Baal Aadhaar card (Aadhaar Card for Children)

Apply In-Person:
- To apply for Baal Aadhaar card (Children Aadhaar Card), visit the nearest Aadhaar Card Enrolment Centre. Please use the following link to locate the nearest enrolment centre Link Please fill in the State, District, City and click on the “Locate a Centre” button to view nearby enrolment centres.
- Carry along the required documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Inform the concerned Aadhaar official about the enrolment of Aadhaar card for kids and get an enrolment form.
- Duly fill in the enrolment form and submit the same to the concerned officials along with supporting documents.
- The parent’s Aadhaar card details and mobile number must also be provided at the time of submission of the enrolment form.
- After the due verification process, the photograph of the child will be taken.
- Photograph of the kid will be taken during the enrolment process (If the age of the child is below 5 years, then biometric data – iris scanning and fingerprints will not be collected).
- Post confirmation, you can collect the acknowledgement slip given at the centre for further reference.
- No fees will be collected for enrolment of the child for Aadhaar card.
- Applicants will receive an SMS within 60 days, the Baal Aadhaar will be issued within 60 days of receiving the SMS.
To Track Status of Baal Aadhaar:
- To track the status of Baal Aadhaar Card visit the official web portal of UIDAI Link
- Mouse over ‘’My Aadhaar’’ option on the main page and then select “Check Aadhaar Status”
- Now enter the 28 digit SRN code which you receive on your mobile phone via SMS.
- Next, enter the UID number.
- Enter the security code and click on the “Submit” button, you can see your Aadhaar status online.
To Download Baal Aadhaar:
- To download your Baal Aadhaar card, visit the EAadhaar portal Link.
- Choose the '’Enrollment EID’' option
- Enter your 14-digit enrolment ID number as well as the time and date values in 14-digit format.
- Enter your complete name, pin code, and image captcha code.
- Next, click on 'Request OTP' option and confirm.
- Enter the OTP that you will receive on your registered mobile number.
- Then click on the 'Download Aadhaar' option.
- Your electronic copy of Aadhaar card will be ready to download.

For children below 5 years of age:
- Birth certificate of the child

Aadhaar card can be generated for all children below 5 years including newborns.
FeesEdit
- The UIDAI does not charge any fees from the applicants for enrolment of the child for Aadhaar card.
- The cost of the Aadhaar enrolment will be borne by the government.
- When the child visits the enrolment centre for a biometric update after turning 5 or 15 years of age, no fees will be charged from the child for enrollment.
- However, if any demographic data has to be updated during this time, then the applicant has to pay a fee of Rs 30.
ValidityEdit
- The validity period is 5 years.
- The applicant will get a blue-coloured Baal Aadhaar if your child is below 5 ye ars of age. It is valid till he is 5 years old.
- Applicant has to submit their biometrics when they turns 5 as the Baal Aadhaar is not valid after the child turns 5.

Processing TimeEdit
- Aadhaar generation may take anywhere from 7 to 90 days.
- Aadhaar letter is delivered by ordinary post at the registered address of the resident in Aadhaar database.
- Once Aadhaar is generated, you also get a sms on registered mobile.

InstructionsEdit
- Until 5 years of age, no biometric data will be collected from the kids. Until this age, the child’s Aadhaar card will be linked to her/his parent's Aadhaar.
- It is mandatory to provide Aadhaar card details of at least one of the parents. If in case, both the parents do not have Aadhaar card, then they have to first get enrolled for Aadhaar.
- Once, the child turns 5 years old, then he/she has to provide the biometric details of all their 10 fingers and iris scan should be done.
- The photograph of the child will be taken during the enrolment process itself. The process will be repeated when the child turns 15 years.

- Early 2017, the Indian government made changes to make Aadhaar compulsory for kids to receive benefits of midday meal policy.

- The blue colour Aadhaar does not include the biometric information related to the child.
- The demographic details of any one of the parents will be taken from their respective Aadhaar card for Baal Aadhaar.
- The first mandatory biometric update should be made when the child turns five years and it should include biometric data like fingerprints and iris scan.
- The second mandatory biometric update will be made at the age of 15 years.
- Other than school photo ID card, the child’s birth certificate and mobile number are also required for the enrolment purpose.
Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit
Parents can register their mobile numbers with their respective kid’s Aadhaar card and can use the mAadhaar app to carry the Aadhaar card of kids in their smartphones. The mAadhaar app is designed in such a way that one can add up to 3 Aadhaar cards in it. Any individual can manage his/her as well as their children’s Aadhaar card in the mAadhaar app. The Aadhaar card of the kids can be accessed anytime and from anywhere and can be used as a proof of identity or for address. This facility can be accessed by parents of children who are aged below 5 years and even for those who are aged between 5 years – 15 years.

The Unique Identification Authority of India or popularly known as UIDAI has come up with a coloured Aadhaar Card for kids who are aged below five years. The reason behind the making the Aadhaar in blue colour is for easier identification. As per the rules, the Aadhaar will require mandatory biometric update when the child turns five years and fifteen years respectively. The photo identification cards issued by the school can be used for Aadhaar enrollment.
