Apply in Person:
- Every registered nurse, nurse practitioner or midwife shall, on or before the 31st day of October in each year pay to the Registrar a rolling fee fixed by the Board for the year commencing on the first day of January next following the prescribed day for them to be able to continue practicing licensing. - All nursing and midwifery personnel are expected to maintain their registration status with the Nursing Board through payment of fees once every year. Payment of fees could either be in person, by post or through the bank.
- When one is paying fees in person, she/he will get to the Board cashier’s office; identify her/him with full name, address, and registration numbers.
- Where the renewal fee is paid by post; a receipt from the post office is recorded in the post office register book in the registration and investigation department. The secretary stamps and signs the receipt for the collection of money at the post office.
- Where a practitioner has brought a receipt, a card is retrieved to verify name, address, and registration status.
- The card and money or proof of payment are given to the cashier for receipt. The address or name is changed where indicated. A receipt is given to the owner.
- The secretary records the received amount in the remittance book indicating
- Date of receipt
- Receipt number
- Amount
- Name of sender
- Signature of Secretary
- Signature of the receiver from accounts
- Through the nurse manager, often the fees will be for a group of nursing and midwifery personnel for a particular facility. The receiving cashier verifies with the one who has brought the money and list (Amount/ Names/ Registration numbers) before issuing the licensee a Board payment receipt.
- Where a list has been submitted through a Board member, and when receipts have been written, they should be counter-checked by the particular officer before posting.
- If payment is made through the Nurses and Midwives Board bank account; before depositing the money in the account, the sender is advised on (Branch where the account is held and the Account number)
- Submitting a receipt used for processing the deposit on which he/she should indicate
- Address
- Full Name
- Registration number(s)
- The purpose of the money for Registration with the Board
- The registrar through the registration officer shall maintain and update the registration status of all the nursing and midwifery personnel in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives Act.
- The registrar through the registration officer shall ensure that; all the nursing and midwifery personnel who have paid their registration fees for renewal in person or by post are issued with a receipt as stipulated in the procedure and the money accounted for.
- The registration card and the electronic register of nursing and midwifery personnel who have renewed their registration are updated accordingly.

- One white background passport-size photo if he/she wants to replace the old photo.
- Registration card.
- Photocopies of certificates of registration
- Photocopy of certificate of attendance for Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programme (MCPDP).
- Original evidence of Payment of all applicable fees.
- Any other additional supporting documentation as requested by the Authority.

EligibilityEdit
- The individual should be registered with the Ministry and a holder of a practicing license.
- To be of good reputation and commendable conduct.
- To have never been sentenced in a felony or misdemeanor (for a custodial penalty in a crime involving moral turpitude or breach of trust, unless rehabilitated in either case). In short, not to have a criminal record.

- Every registered nurse, nurse practitioner or midwife shall in each year pay to the Registrar a rolling fee fixed by the Board for the year commencing on the first day of January next following the prescribed day for them to be able to continue practicing.
- Late renewal incurs an additional penalty charge as prescribed by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Tonga.
